A food or diet that contains high amount of salt will adjust the sodium content in the body and can cause kidney to limits it's function and bring out less water from the body resulting in high blood pressure. And because of that it put too much tension on the kidneys and cause renal disease.
2.Excess intake of sugar.
The kidneys begin to remove excess sugar from the blood and release it into urine once sugar in the blood becomes high or gets to a certain level or amount. So if it left uncontrolled, it will lead to diabetes which can damage the kidneys by preventing them from filtering out waste from the blood.
3.Lack of minerals and vitamins.
Minerals and vitamins are substances found in food that the body needs to help carry out it's important functions. Since that, if the body is not getting enough vitamins and minerals, it will affect various organs found in the body which kidneys are part. So the kidney cannot perform it's function properly and it can be damaged.
4.Eating too much meat (eating it at all).
If you take in animal products especially meat, fish, etc, it generates high amount of acid in the blood that serves as a harmful substance to the kidneys. The kidneys cannot also eliminates acid from the body and it can lead the acidosis.
5.Refusing to drink enough water.
If you become dehydrated , it will cause a build-up of waste in the body which can block the kidneys with muscle proteins. This can damage the kidneys.
6.Lack of sleep.
Once you sleep, the body have it own way to repair it's damaged tissues. So lack of sleep can leads several health problems including the kidney disease.
7.Drug abuse.
The use of drugs especially painkillers and antibiotic for a long period of time may inhibits the flow of blood in the system. So it can greatly affect the kidney since it contain a dense blood vessels around it which leads to kidney damage.
8.Refusing to empty your bladder early.
When you keep yourself from urinating for a long period of time, it can cause the bacteria bleeding in the urine to increase or multiply speedily. Once the urine gets back to the ureter and then to the kidneys, the bacteria can result in the functions of the kidney which will lead to kidney damaged.
9.Too much alcohol in the body or blood.
Alcohol can cause a change in the functions of the kidney and allow them to remove less waste from the blood. Again alcohol affects the kidney's function of regulating fluid balance and electrolytes in the system. When alcohol dries out in the body, it affects the normal functions of the kidney.
